Thankfulness Is the Song We Must Sing

By Matrid Harper

In the lives of Christians, “Thankfulness “is the song we must sing in 2019.

Psalm 113:2 “Blessed be the Name of the LORD now and forever.” (NLT)

We cannot miss the opportunity to be thankful to the Almighty. He has seen us over mountains and through valleys. He has seen us through past challenges. He is the same reliable GOD who we confide in and trust to see us through as victors in the next year. Regardless of the terrain ahead, we have a GOD who never fails and with Him in us, we will see and feel the light of His Grace guiding our footsteps.

Psalm 113:3 “Everywhere –from east to west—praise the Name of the LORD.” (NLT)

GOD has brought us through lots of trials in the past, some we may have noticed and some we might not; but the Good News is that our ever present Savior has been and always will be our perfect guide in all our journeys.

Lots of heart wrenching things have happened in 2018, some have been challenging, some disturbing, some have been an affront to our Creator. What we believers need to say is: “praise the LORD for whatever comes our way”. He holds us by the hand to walk us through as victors; not in our own names, but in His Holy and precious Name.

Psalm 115:1 “Not us, O LORD, not us, but to your Name goes all the Glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.” (NLT)

As we say good bye to 2018, be thankful to the LORD most High for He is, and always will be there for us, our families, friends, and our NATION.

Corinthians 2:15 “…But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume.”

We are thankful for the GOD given peace that surpasses every human understanding. We continue to seek HIS direction in doing His work in the New Year; for our quest to serve and do what is pleasing to Him. We aim to continuously have the Gospel shared and shine the Light of Truth that sets all free. We must walk with confidence, for no one lights a candle and puts it under the table, but instead places it on the table for everyone to see. So, together in Christ, we will face tomorrow.

Hebrews 10:24 “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.” (NLT)

Let’s continue to work hard in the LORD’s Vineyard, as we hold each other by the hand, giving encouragement and shining the Light of Christ wherever we go.

Mathew 5:16 “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (NLT)

According to Elena Anguita there are three simple steps to show the transformational power of being Thankful:

1. Be mindful and look for goodness

2. Send a small note to the person who helped you or enriched your day

3. Watch for more goodness to come your way in the form of daily miracles of all kinds.
