Senior Associate Pastor
Christ Church at Grove Farm
“I was blessed richly as a child by being raised in a Christian home by two godly parents. Because of their example, the support of my church, and the call of God, I trusted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of seven. In the years that followed, I grew in faith as my knowledge of Christ increased. At age 16, I formally owned my faith personally and developed a passion to know God more completely. As my faith journey deepened, I felt the calling to serve God vocationally in ministry.”
Educated at Taylor University (BA) and Trinity International University (MAR), Mike has worked in the non-profit sector and has served in full-time ministry for the past 25 years. He is a natural visionary and has proven effective at mobilizing staff and volunteers.
Pastoral ministry has been a natural expression of his faith. Through the years, he has seen God impact thousands of individuals and he is grateful for the lifelong relationships God has blessed him with through this journey with Him.
Personally, his greatest passion is to overcome challenges. Growing up in a rust-belt city, he was constantly reminded that the “best days” of his community were behind them. That sparked a resolve within him to rebuild and make old things new. The most rewarding way he has experienced this has been through ministry as he has watched God rebuild and renew countless lives through His amazing love and power. In addition, he has had a unique opportunity to help rebuild hurting or “stuck” ministries, businesses, and non-profit organizations through his consulting business. In those settings, he has learned as much as he has contributed and he considers those opportunities to be priceless experiences.
Currently, Mike seeks Christ daily and humbly surrenders his life to His work. He prays continually that he will remain teachable as the Lord continues to mold him into a man of God. He has found comfort as he rests in the grace given through Christ, but God’s grace does not keep him from developing spiritual disciplines as he attempts to grow more like Jesus daily.
Mike currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching sports and spending time with his family. He is excited to join the Christ Church at Grove Farm team and he looks forward to getting to know the CCGF family.
Mike’s first day in the office will be Monday, September 13 and his first official Sunday with us will be September 19. Please join us in welcoming Mike and his family to Christ Church and praying for him in this new role.
