Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the very best decision any of us can make! The Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” And, as you have discovered, this applies to you now. Your sins have been forgiven and you have been given a fresh start. Life. Everlasting. And, it begins today!
And, when you’re starting out on our new adventure, it can be valuable to have a fellow traveler along for the journey. Please let us know a tiny bit about you here so one of our prayer team can reach out to you. We would love to get to know you, and help you get started.

So what’s next?
First, as a new Christian, begin reading the Bible. If you already have a Bible in book form, great! If the language in it seems hard to read or understand, don’t worry. There are other translations which use language in a way that will feel more familiar to you.
You can find the whole Bible online at BibleGateway.com or you can download an app for your phone at YouVersion.com. Try the New Living Translation (NLT) or New International Version (NIV) to get started.
We recommend that you begin with the Gospel of John to read for yourself what Jesus taught and did during His time on earth. Remember as you are reading that the Bible is an incredible gift from God, and it is His holy word. If you don’t understand it right away, that’s ok. He’s alive and will help you if you ask.
Second, as a new Christian, begin praying. Prayer is simply talking with God. And, it can be done by anyone, anywhere and at any time. The Bible teaches us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). We are instructed to praise God day and night. If we desire to know God more deeply, we must communicate with Him regularly. Don’t worry about getting the words exactly right. Romans 8:26 promises “…We don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.”
God knew we wouldn’t know how to pray so in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus teaches us. “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’” Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV)
Third, as a new Christian, get connected to the Church. Even with all the amazing online resources available to us when we are learning something new. The Church is something that God has setup to help us grow and learn and become fully alive. This involves attending worship and connecting with other Christians.
Remember John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Welcome to a while new life!
