Don was raised in a Christian home in Scranton, PA. He was baptized at 8 years old but came to a full understanding of his Christian faith at age 15. He was involved with Youth for Christ during high school, attended Christian college at Pinebrook Junior College and Covenant College studying philosophy. Don married his long time friend, Barbara and they had one child, Aimee. In 1980, his job moved them to Buffalo, NY where they were founding members of a PCA church and Don served as an elder for 9 years. They moved to the Pittsburgh area in 2004 and became members of Christ Church. In October 2013, Barbara went to be with her Lord after a long battle with breast cancer. After 5 years of being single, a mutual friend introduced Don to Jody who also lost her husband. They married in 2018 and they both love and serve the Lord. Don is retired and has served on the Men’s Committee, GriefShare and adult Sunday school classes.

Chris grew up in New Jersey.  As a child, Chris’ parents diligently brought him to church and raised him to trust in the saving work of Jesus, and to submit to His Lordship.  Today, the same faith that dwelt in them, now dwells in him as well.

Chris met his wife, Kristen, at a college and career group during his last year of college.   They have been married for over 15 years and have three daughters – Claire, Emily, and Julia.  The Dening family has been attending Christ Church for over nine years.  They’ve greatly appreciated Christ Church’s commitment to sound doctrine, work in the community, and the superb Children’s ministry.  Christ Church has supported Kristen and Chris as they endeavor to pass on their faith to their children.

Professionally, Chris is a Rutgers University graduate where he was commissioned into the Army through the ROTC.  He served in the Army for four years, including one year in Iraq.  Chris is currently working as a project manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.   He also has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon.
