Associate Pastor – Discipleship

The Associate Pastor of Discipleship is a salaried full-time employee who is responsible for building and developing a discipleship culture for Christ Church that promotes spiritual growth from new to mature believers.

This individual will assist the Senior Pastor in developing and implementing the church’s vision and strategy. As a member of the preaching team, he will preach and participate in Sunday and special services as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

This position provides oversight and supervision for the following ministries: Children’s, Middle School, High School, College & Career, Women’s, Men, Seniors, Communities, and Christian Education.

The ideal candidate must have a high level of competency in biblical and theological studies, three years of ministry leadership experience, and is able to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. He must have a sound knowledge of Scripture, an ability to preach and teach effectively and apply Scriptural principles in all areas of ministry. This individual must demonstrate proven leadership in mobilizing staff and volunteers toward a shared vision. A Master of Divinity from an accredited seminary is preferred.

Children’s Director

The Children’s Director is a salaried full-time employee responsible for reaching and spiritually developing children from infant through fifth grade.

Working with volunteers, this person will lead the spiritual formation of children by winning them to Christ, teaching them to worship, discipling them to obey God’s Word, instilling in them a passion to serve the body and community, and building meaningful and godly relationships.

The ideal candidate is required to have a high school diploma or the equivalent; an adequate biblical education, preferably at the college level; a minimum of two years’ experience leading a growing children’s or youth ministry; and trained in evangelism. The candidate should have a sound knowledge of Scripture, an ability to teach effectively, apply Scriptural principles in all areas of ministry, and be proficient with social media. Ordination is preferred but not required.
