Encounter – Christ Church at Grove Farm

Encounter

advent prayer

Our Encounter prayer during Advent will be devoted to worshipping Emmanuel and praying for those we know, those we love, those in our lives who don’t know Jesus. Let’s make it a priority and pray together this Christmas season that others will receive the greatest gift.

Join us at 6:30 pm on the first three Wednesdays in Advent:

December 1 in Fellowship Hall
December 8 and 15 in the Sanctuary

Let’s bask in the presence of our Lord and pray for the gift of salvation for those we know and love. There’s no greater gift we can give.

all about encounter

Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary

These nights of prayer have been so well-received, we want to give them a name that encompasses what they mean to those who attend and to those of you who have yet to attend. We have decided to call these nights of prayer, “Encounter”. So we invite you to come and “encounter” God’s presence with us on Wednesday evenings. It is our privilege to call on God in prayer and there is no limit to what God can and will do as we pray in accordance with His Word and will. We are also excited to tell you that we will be moving outdoors THIS WEEK and for all the upcoming Wednesdays, weather permitting! So bring your lawn chairs or blankets and join us!

We will meet outside, weather permitting, in the spring, summer and fall, so bring your lawn chairs or blankets!

The Bible tells us “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and tell you great and mighty things which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3

We, the people of God, have the incredible privilege of calling on the God of the Universe in prayer. God responds to the prayers of His children. There is no limit to what God can and will do as we pray in accordance with His Word and will. We are living in a perilous moment in history. As our nation and the world face a multitude of crises we remember that our Father is all-powerful. He expects us to call on Him to intervene and He promises to answer our prayers. If ever there was a time that our nation – our families and all people – needed a fresh touch from God – it is now.

We as the Body of Christ at Christ Church at Grove Farm will gather every week for prayer. Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary for our Congregational Prayer Meetings. As the prophet Samuel said: “Far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.“ 1 Samuel 12:23.

Among other things, we will also be praying for our congregation and many things happening in our culture today.
