6:30 – 9:00 PM
SEPTEMBER – MAY
Find Healing, Health, and Hope for life’s Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups through the transformative power of Jesus Christ and the support of a Caring Community.
Everyone has a longing for belonging. Everyone needs a someone and a someplace. We weren’t meant to go through life alone. Unfortunately, we live in a broken world: we have broken weather, we’ve lived through broken economies, our bodies are broken and we have seen many suffer through sickness, we’ve suffered through broken relationships – if we are honest with ourselves; we are broken people. People hurt us – and we hurt others.
Not only did God design us to connect together in community, He designed us to get better together. Community of Hope is a place for you to find healing for your past, health for your present, and hope for your future. We are a safe place where you can belong as we support one another as we heal from our Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups.
WHAT ARE OUR HURTS? Our Hurts are any life experience that may have damaged your heart, caused you pain, or was some offense against you that is now crippling your ability to deal with the world around you in a healthy way. Our Hurts may cause us to have a broken view of ourselves, God, or others. Some examples of our hurts may include: Abuse done to us, Betrayal, Disappointments, Family Troubles, Loss, Rejection, & Trama
WHAT ARE DESTRUCTIVE HABITS? Destructive Habits tend to be unhealthy patterns that often start as a perceived remedy for a problem in our life, but end up turning into a chronic bad behavior or addiction. Destructive Habits are often the repeat, default scripts, we run to when the going gets tough. They can continually lead to trouble in our lives. Some examples of destructive habits may include: Addictions, Bitterness, Gossip, Lying, Over-Thinking a Situation, Over-Working, People-Pleasing, Perfectionism, Pornography, Self-harm, Spending problems, Unhealthy Patterns with Food, & Worry
WHAT ARE HANG-UPS? Hang-ups are roadblocks that keep us from progressing further in God’s plan for our lives and for our future. They are often shaped by broken thinking we may have shaped in our minds from our past, or they may be unhealthy attitudes we may have adopted as a means of coping with life’s challenges. Some examples of our hang-ups may include: Anger, Anxiety, Arrogance, Bitterness, Depression, Faith Doubts, Fear, Greed, Guilt, Insecurity, Materialism, Need to Control, Negative Images of Yourself, Pride, Resentment, Shame, & Stress
Anyone over the age of twenty-one is invited to join us on Monday Nights from 6:30-9 pm at Christ Church at Grove Farm, through the Main Entrance, for Community of Hope!
