Opportunities with Urban Impact
Registrations are now being taken for Fall programs. Registration forms are available at the information desk and on the Urban Impact web site at www.urbanimpactpittsburgh.org
Volunteers are needed for Fall programs in Athletics and Performing Arts. Please visit Urban Impact's web site for a full list. Some of the specific needs are listed below:
Athletics

• Outreach Basketball: Coaches, Assistant coaches, Referees, and Scorekeepers; 1 evening a week, Mon. or Thur., Fall season runs Sept.-Nov.; 5 different gyms for boys and girls grades 3rd-12th; past basketball experience is an asset, but not required. Invest in the spiritual, social, and athletic growth of North Side youth!
• High School Basketball Teams: Coaches and/or Discipleship Leaders - Seasons for both Boy’s and Girl’s high school teams run Sept.-Nov.; teams practice 1-2 evenings a week, all games on Saturdays; discipleship leaders help lead Bible lessons, devotionals and small group discussions;
• Soccer: Coaches, Assistant coaches, and helping hands to invest in youth age 4 to 8th Grade; 2pm-4pm on Saturday afternoons from Sept. 11th to Oct. 30th; work one-on-one with youth as they learn soccer fundamentals and memorize scripture; previous soccer experience not required
• Fall Basketball League: Scorekeepers; Saturday morning
Athletics is also looking specifically for a volunteer who is gifted in organizational and administrative tasks. They need someone who can commit 2-3 days a week for at least one year. Contact Seth Reichart if you are interested at 412-551-7838.

2011 Run for a Reason –
Pittsburgh Marathon
Urban Impact has registered in the charity program for the 2011 Pittsburgh Marathon, scheduled for May 15, 2011. If you would like to run the marathon, the half-marathon and raise funds for Urban Impact, email Cindy Dell at cindy.dell@urbanimpactpittsburgh.org. You must first register on the marathon website at www.pittsburghmarathon.com. Registration with Urban Impact will occur later in August. Marathon registration opened on August 2nd.
