Rev. Jamie Kendrew
Director of Student Ministries
Jamie is a self-confessed adrenalin junkie with a special interest in rock climbing, ice hockey and kayaking, together with hunting, fishing and reef tanking. Those are his part time addictions, but his full time addiction is youth and missions. Fortunately, part of his responsibility as Director of Student Ministries is to encourage and accompany our youth in high energy activities, and to be with them as they learn about domestic and foreign missions.
Jamie is a graduate of Geneva College. He is married to Michelle, who he describes as a “beautiful woman of God”, and they are the parents of a little boy and a little girl. Jamie’s parents taught him to love God, love others and always be real.
As he works with our youth, Jamie is constantly using Facebook and Twitter to stay on top of the rapidly changing youth culture and to communicate with students. He also receives news over the internet and the occasional newspaper.
Jamie’s view of life can be described in one of the Bible verses that give him daily inspiration, 1 Peter 3:15: But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
