I'M NEW

Rev. Dr. Edward Glover
Urban Missions

Ed is dynamic preacher and a visionary leader whose life work is the Urban Impact Foundation bringing hope and change to the North Side of Pittsburgh, “one person, one family, one block at a time”.  Ed and his wife Tammy together with their four children are living out what they believe as they make their home in one of the most difficult areas of the city.

Ed came to faith at the age of 22, but at that time he was being pursued by the Pittsburgh Pirates for his baseball skills. An injury ended his baseball hopes and brought him to the place where he responded to Jesus Christ. He still enjoys basketball, football and golf, but admits he’s not much of a golfer.

You won’t find Ed “twittering” and he prefers to get his news through an application on his iphone. Ed’s heart is in many places: evangelism, mission, equipping the saints, and preaching. When asked if he had ever voluntarily done anything that put his life in danger, he replies that while serving and living Urban Impact, both he and his family have been in death situations.

Ed’s parents taught him “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all” and “Walk your talk” and “Honesty”.

His verse to live by Ephesians 2:10: For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
