What is your Role in the Great Commission?

Praying is a way that every single Christian can get involved in missions. Jesus gave us the Great Commission, telling us to go into “all the world and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19, 20). Prayer is the foundation in a disciple making movement among an unreached people group. You can also cultivate a heart for the unreached by reviewing the 4 steps of 1. Learning 2. Praying 3. Giving 4. Going, reviewed at the end of this page.

You can take an active role in praying for an unreached people group. There are approximately 7,000 people groups that have never heard the gospel. You could change that number by making a commitment to pray for 1 unreached people group.

To get started go to www.JoshuaProject.net and locate your people group. You can also select a people group below. Each day a new unreached people group will be highlighted.

Next write down the following:

  1. My People Group:
  2. Any other names used to refer to this people group:
  3. Primary language:
  4. Primary religion:
  5. Country:
  6. Population:
  7. Bible translation in their language?
  8. Do they have the “Jesus” film?
  9. Any gospel recordings?
  10. Any radio broadcast?

Now that you are more familiar with the background for your group, you are more prepared to advocate on their behalf. For the next 30 days can you mention your group in prayer every day?

Unreached of the Day

An unreached people group is, a group of people among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians within adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance. There are over 7,000 unreached people groups with over 2.5 billion people considered unreached.

You can begin to cultivate a heart to reach the unreached by following these steps.
