An unreached people group is, a group of people among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians within adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance. There are over 7,000 unreached people groups with over 2.5 billion people considered unreached.
Praying is a way that every single Christian can get involved in missions. Jesus gave us the Great Commission, telling us to go into “all the world and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19, 20). Prayer is the foundation in a disciple making movement among an unreached people group. You can also cultivate a heart for the unreached by reviewing the 4 steps of 1. Learning 2. Praying 3. Giving 4. Going, reviewed at the end of this page.
You can take an active role in praying for an unreached people group. There are approximately 7,000 people groups that have never heard the gospel. You could change that number by making a commitment to pray for 1 unreached people group. Christ Church will be praying as a congregation for the unreached people group called the Khmer.
