As we face the challenges of the Coronavirus, Christ Church will be posting daily prayers for our church family. This is an opportunity for us to pray according to God’s Word during this critical time. Please read the Scripture verse aloud and even try to memorize it. The word of God is powerful and it is good to be able to recall His word - especially in times of need. Then slowly pray the prayer aloud taking time to carefully think about what you are praying.

March 23, 2020

Here is our Scripture and Prayer for today, March 23,2020:

Read this verse aloud (and take time today to memorize it):

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

Pray this prayer aloud:

Father, I come to You today, humbly, as Your child. I know You love me. You are strong and mighty. There is no problem too large for you. There is no detail of my life too small for you to care about. I come to you with many cares today. These are the things that are heavy on my heart: (Speak your cares aloud to our Heavenly Father). Father, I am so thankful that there is nothing impossible for You. I am also thankful for the ways in which You are providing for me right now. I am thankful that You care about all the things that concern me, and that You will help me and sustain me during this difficult season. Help me to watch for the answers to my prayers so that I might give You thanks and praise as I see You working. I pray all this in the mighty Name of Jesus, Amen

Thank You for praying with the Christ Church Family! May God hearten you today and may You see His hand at work in your life!

March 24, 2020

Speak this verse aloud (and take time today to memorize it):
Psalm 62:1-2 (NIV): Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Pray this prayer aloud: Father God, I thank you for this day, and for Your truth that says my soul does, in fact, rest in You. Your Son surely died on the cross for me and has saved me. I thank you for reminding me and storing up Your joy for me which I need now. You indeed are my salvation and my rock in whom I can rest and not be shaken. Bless you, for Your kindness and Your steadfastness. In Jesus Name. Amen

Thank You for praying with the Christ Church Family! May God hearten you today and may You see His hand at work in your life!

March 25, 2020

Speak this verse aloud (and take time today to memorize it):

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. “ II Corinthians 1:3-4 (ESV)

Pray this prayer aloud:

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for Your inspired Word. I thank You for the manner in which You supernaturally ordained Your servant, Paul, to remind me of Your unending mercy, compassion and tender care for me, Your child. I pray that You would, by Your grace, enable me to receive Your mercy and comfort now, that I might go forth and share mercy and comfort with someone else today. Father, bring to my mind right now someone that needs prayer, help or encouragement today. (Pause to allow God to bring people to your mind.) I pray that I would never forget that Your mercy and comfort are never-ending, daily realities, that I might be a blessing to others, all to Your glory and praise. I ask this in the Name above every name, the Name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank You for praying with the Christ Church Family! May God hearten you today and may You see His hand at work in your life!

March 26, 2020

Speak this verse aloud (and take time today to memorize it): “You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar” Psalm 139:2

Pray this prayer aloud:  Almighty and loving Father, the changing conditions of recent days work on my thoughts creating worry and doubt. But as soon as I think events seem to be out of control, your Spirit directs me to verse 2 in Psalm 139, “You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar”. Because of who you are, I know I have hope. You know everything about me especially the doubts and fears recently going through my mind. Through the hope you give me, these doubts and fears are replaced with confidence in you. Confidence that regardless of my condition I am under your watchful eyes. Thank you for making me your very own child. Whether I become ill, or not you will guide me through these days.

Thank You for praying with the Christ Church Family! May God hearten you today and may You see His hand at work in your life!

March 27, 2020

Take a moment to close your eyes, quiet yourself and ask God to speak to your heart. Here is our Scripture and Prayer for today, March 27, 2020:

Speak this verse aloud, even write it down and take time today to memorize it: "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2)

Pray this prayer aloud:  Father in Heaven, thank you that you are God and that I am not alone. Please forgive me for at times failing to trust you. Enable me to trust you completely in every situation. For you are my salvation, my strength and when fear goes and trust comes, I am free and able to sing songs of praise to you. Put this truth in my inmost parts. Thank you for loving me.
In Jesus name, Amen

Thank You for praying with the Christ Church Family! May God hearten you today and may You see His hand at work in your life!
