Greg Fichtl
Ministry Warden

Testimony
Although I heard the Gospel when I was in high school, I don’t believe I really understood what was being offered. I studied the Bible and I went to church, but I didn’t fully rely on Christ nor did I fully turn my life over to Him. Throughout college, the Army and the first 10 years of my adult life, I attended church and gave time to many ministries however I held back the “throne of my life”. As a result, I ended up spending too much time at work, divorced and focused on the things of this world. When I remarried, it felt like a new beginning. I thought that this marriage would make the difference; fill the gap. However, during our honeymoon, I realized that there still was something missing, so I instinctively went to the bookstore and bought a new Bible. My wife, Becca, thought I was a bit crazy, but dutifully went along. Over the next few months, God worked in both of our lives, and at Promise Keepers in July 1996, it all came together and I fully committed myself to Christ as Savior and Lord.
Personal
Becca and I are not originally from the Pittsburgh area, so when we relocated here in January 1996, we didn’t really know much about the area. Just by chance, we drove through Sewickley and knew instantly that this was where we wanted to live. We almost bought a house, but things didn’t work out and we decided to rent for a year. Later that year, we began to look again, this time we had a new realtor – Sally Dunbar. In addition, to a house, we got a new church and a whole bunch of new friends. Since then our whole family (Amanda (age 21) and sons, Sam (age 10) and Ben (age 7)) have been active in the life of church. I previously served on Parish Council from 2001 through 2007 and have been involved in many other ministries including Young Adults and Men’s Ministry. I am currently employed by Crown Castle International which owns and operates 23,000+ cell towers throughout the US and Australia.
Vision
Personally, I would like to grow to the point where I view each day as an
opportunity to advance the Kingdom of God. Corporately, I would like the church to embrace our role in helping each and every person in our community of believers to find their place in the battle and equip them for the fight.
