Yogi Berra, the great baseball legend of the New York Yankees once said about a famous restaurant, "Nobody eats there anymore, it's too crowded." Ah, yes, Yogi at this best. Restaurants gain patrons by word of mouth - if the food is good, people will tell their friends, and often go the next step by inviting their friends there to eat. Interestingly, studies show that strong churches grow by word of mouth too! If parishoners are pleased with their church, they will invite family and friends to attend, and those invitees typically stay in the church because they already know someone, the friend or family member who invited them. Do you feel good about your church? Do you feel like you are well-fed spiritually? Then, would you consider inviting a friend or family member. You may end up having an eternal impact in their lives, just by inviting them to worship with you. Wouldn't it be wondeful if someone were to say of Christ Church, "Noone worships at that church anymore, it's too crowded!"
