We are truly blessed to call our 55-acre campus home, and treasure both the natural beauty of its setting and the great variety of both indoor and outdoor venues which allow us to host a wide array of discipleship, ministry and outreach events on a regular basis.
Beautifully situated on property formerly known as Grove Farm, our pastoral campus is comprised of rolling lawns and woodlands, highlighted by our own lake, which we occasionally stock with trout and invite our neighbors to come and enjoy an afternoon of fishing. We have constructed a park-type shelter next to the lake, which serves as a great space for youth groups, picnics and the like. The peaceful beauty of our ‘backyard’ has also proven itself to be a great location for many a prayer walk around the lake.
Our main building, which houses both our 1200 seat sanctuary and our more intimate chapel, also contains meeting and worship spaces of varying sizes which are well utilized by our own ministries, in addition to outside groups. Our large commons area is home to our busy Cafe, which serves delicious fare on Sundays in support of our primary Pittsburgh ministry partner, the UrbanImpact Foundation. We recently launched Coffee Encounter in another area of our commons, which serves up frothy caffeinated beverages in support of a rotating roster of missions.
Our commons area is truly multi-purpose and utilized for varied ministry events and outside functions. Below the sanctuary spaces and common areas on the main level, a plethora of worship, gathering, classroom and office space that houses all of our administration as well as much of our pastoral staff, can be found.
A separate wing houses our Student Center which is comprised of a fully decked out game room with a refreshment bar, sofas for lounging and small group interaction, and a room for student worship and larger group meeting space. Our extensive Kids’ Ministry section is creatively outfitted in our name-appropriate barnyard theme complete with tractor slide!
In addition to our spacious main building, we have a few notable outbuildings on our property. Our charming Farmhouse is home to our pastoral counseling staff, and also contains a welcoming ‘great room’, perfect for holding bible studies or small groups next to a roaring fire.
We have retained (and relocated) The Barn, a building dating to the 1960’s which we have renovated as a venue/meeting space complete with full kitchen and outdoor deck. Between these two structures is a substantial stone fire pit surrounded by bench seating handcrafted by one of our members. This setting has proven popular for year-round evening bible studies, and spectacular outdoor worship events in the warmer months.
Another building, The John Guest Ministry Center, contains offices and meeting space that we currently share with one of our Pittsburgh ministry partners, Unaltered (previously known as The Silver Ring Thing), an international abstinence ministry reaching out to our youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the midst of our sexually broken world.
An extensive parking area surrounds our main building on two sides, amply supplying both our Sunday service needs and outreach events. All of these amenities have made our campus a well utilized venue for both Christ Church at Grove Farm sponsored ministry events and those of parachurch organizations, as we seek to reach out to the lost and build disciples for the Kingdom.
