We are once again offering the “How People Change” course here at Christ Church for the fourth year. Following are several inspirational quotes from past course participants:
“It helped me to focus on my heart, instead of my behaviors. For so many years I have sought to change my behaviors. This study has helped me realize that my behaviors and habits were an overflow of the issues of my heart.”
“Through this course I was challenged to evaluate the thorny ways I respond to circumstances and understand how knowing Christ can help me change my responses. The course made me think differently about things I had not considered before. It caused me to dig deep. Thus, I experienced true life-change because of the principles taught in this course.”
“This course helped me better understand the process of how God’s grace works in and through us individually and as a body of believers. My spouse has noted a change in my behavior pattern, resulting from God’s gift of providing clarity and understanding regarding the Biblical principles presented and developed throughout the course of study and participant discussions.”
“The course taught me how real and lasting change takes place.”
The Gospel of Jesus Christ promises a changed heart. But so many of us are stuck. We make sinful choices again and again. We’re trapped by repetitive selfish behaviors.
Scripture would tell us that change is a process, not an event. When the Bible talks about the gift of a new heart, it promises a heart that is capable of being changed.
How People Change targets the root of a person – the heart. When our core desires and motivations change, only then will behavior follow. Using a biblical model of Heat, Thorns, Cross, and Fruit, Rev. Dr. Paul David Tripp and Rev. Dr. Timothy Lane reveal how lasting change is possible.
You don’t need to be stuck anymore. In Christ, you are a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come.
Discover your new potential in Christ.
