WHAT IT IS
As a larger fellowship of believers, it is important that we encourage our people to be a caring Christian community, and to invite their friends to meet and experience Christ. This passion for spiritual depth and leadership training, as well as a discipleship process to develop a new believer to Christ-like maturity, is what we call “rounding the bases.” This process is important as it allows you to get to know the basics of Christ Church as well as dig deeper. Classes are offered several times throughout the year, and must be taken in succession (First base, then second base, etc). See the "Upcoming Classes" list on the right for the next available dates.
FIRST BASE
(Membership)
In this class, participants are given an introduction to the Christ Church family of believers. Our roots in the Christian Church and worship style are clearly explained. The two ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper are among the topics covered. A signed commitment to membership in our Christ Church family and agreement to attend 2nd Base are required to complete first Base (though attending the class does not require you to become a member).
SECOND BASE
(Maturity)
The Maturity Class focuses on discipleship and helping every member of Christ Church understand and participate in the habits necessary for Christian maturity. These include the necessity to be reading the Bible (John 8:31-32), praying (John 15:7-8), tithing (Deut. 14:22), and to be in fellowship (John 13:34-35).
THIRD BASE
(Ministry)
The Ministry Class is about understanding your purpose and the kind of person you are. By discovering your unique spiritual gifts, you begin to see clearly what you really love to do. A self-evaluation and Ministry Profile help you to select ministry opportunities that best match your unique God-given gifts.
HOME PLATE
(Mission)
Through a Biblical world view, the material in the Missions class prepares you as a “Home Run Christian” to be a disciple-maker and kingdom-builder as you live "To Call Our World To Christ."
The real measure of our success is the many stories of lives which have been changed by a personal commitment to our Lord Jesus.
