Christ Church at Grove Farm is now entering its last year of a ten year commitment to the nation of Uganda, where we concentrate our efforts primarily in the Bunyoro-Kitara region. We believe that by returning year after year to build upon our previous efforts, we will (with God's help) make an impact which goes far beyond a temporary fix.
Our purpose in Uganda is to share and to teach and to provide the tools necessary for progress both physically and spiritually. Committed Christians from all denominations who feel God's call to share their faith, their skills, and their love in Africa, are welcome to apply for a place on the Team. We have many areas of service available both skilled and unskilled. The approximate total cost for your 15 day mission to Uganda is $3500.

Our Father's Business

THERONE WADE – Our Every Neighborhood Kid Uganda leader has written a novel. The book is called Encounter Uganda, and he says it is fictional, but some of us have had a good time trying to identify ourselves in the book. It is the story of a young African American man making his first mission trip to Uganda, and offers Therone’s unique insights on travelling to Africa, as a brown man “returning home”. The book is priced at $15.00 (with a special discount available only to team members) and is available from Christ Church. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the founding of an ENK school in Uganda. We hope that as Encounter Uganda winds down its ten year commitment, we will leave behind permanent institutions. The ENK school would be just such an institution.

BOB AND BRENDA SCHUYLER - The missionary couple are now in the village of Nyamarwa where they will spend the next two years teaching and administrating at the St. James Kibbuse Vocational School.  Stay updated with their work in Kibbuse by reading their blog:

NEW MISSION FOR ENCOUNTER #9 - The Faces of Hope Team
Encounter Uganda #9 will have a new team to add to the list of other successful teams, such as Adopt-A-Pastor, Jeremiah Orphana Ministry , and the well-drilling team. This year, a small group of professional social workers and enthusiastic volunteers will make up the Faces of Hope Team, who will travel to Kitgum in Northern Uganda to assist local professionals in caring for the mental health needs of former child soldiers, former child sex slaves, and the Acholi people who have been forced into IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps.
